cT 4 The past is of necessity suspended, passive. The present is action — here, now — energy ranging from that involved in intellectual tasks to the dynamism of dramatics. These are the undergraduates as we see ourselves, as others see us — the women of the Great Society who are interested when Mike Ouill urges Lindsay to have less profile and more courage. These are the women who dance at dis- cotheques yet come to A. A. dances, who actively participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular interests, who have been urged so often to be that they are. 16

She has also sought to make even stronger the bonds be- tween the College and its graduates, stressing how much the College depends upon their con- tinued interest, love and support. A Sisters ' Division was created in 1957 and placed under the supervision of Sisters John Bap- tist and Teresa Marie. Designed to give to Sister- teachers of the elementary schools the same col- legiate education as that offered to full-time stu- dents, the program graduated its first students in June 1965. Three of the graduates received fel- lowships for the pursuit of full time graduate work. The physical expansion of the College during this time (made urgent by a student population of 700 — 230 of whom are freshmen) presently envisions the construction of the William T. Dil- lon Child Study Center in the near future, and has already seen two notable achievements. For one thing, two years ago the College purchased a building on DeKalb Avenue between Clinton and Waverly .Avenues. This is presently being used as a Student Activities Center under the gracious supervision of Mrs. Ruth Carter, mother of an alumna. IS
