We want understanding of ourselves and others, control over our lives, and satisfaction in our careers. We also need a supportive atmosphere that promotes introspection, confidence, risk taking, and pragmatic goal setting. To provide this environment, St. Joseph's College developed GS 100 Adults in Transition in 1983 with the support of a grant from the Association of American Colleges. As many of you know from having taken Adults in Transition, the course provides students with an opportunity to examine the writings of the major theorists in adult development, and through a series of guided group and individual exercises, enables students to apply these theories to their own lives. With increased self-awareness, students prepare a personal life, career, and educational plan. 'T Elisa Panariello Paulette Patterson Carmen Phinn-Binnom 25 YY 'Y I! If !
