THE DOORS TO ACHIEVEMENT X W We pay tribute to you, the graduating class of 1983. The achievement of your Bachelor of Science degree from the Division of General Studies, a notable achievement in itself, is especially impressive since it was pursued by so many of you while meeting the demands of full-time professional careers, and often, of family life. We celebrate your intellect, energy, and pursuit of excellence. We only hope that your new degree will open many doors to achievement in the years to come. Thomas G. Travis Demi, Division OfG6l16l'l1l Studies an SAINT lDSEPH'S CGLLEGE DIVISION OF GENERAL STUDIES May 1983 To the Graduates ot 1983, Graduation is your time for reflection and celebration. It is an opportunity for you to pause, to take a moment to look back on what has transpired in your life since you entered St. loseph's. In doing this, you will be measuring yourself against what you were, identifying the ways you have gained confidence, independence, and knowledge. You will also, no doubt, think of those who helped you reach your goal-your family, friends, and teachers. It won't take much reflection to recall the tremendous amount of time and energy you have devoted to earning your bachelor's degree. You have worked hard and you have sacrificed, and for this you have reason to celebrate. A special cause for celebration this year is Aclzievements, the very first General Studies yearbook. Born of suggestions from students and faculty members of the Division Advisory Council, the yearbook became a reality under the able and creative direction of Daniel Beni, with assistance from Eileen Mullen. So as we turn the pages of this book, which brings to us so many warm memories, we should thank those who made it possible, including you, the Graduating Class of 1983. Sincerely, X W fig?
