We are all a little more nervous than usual for this is our first year in high school. What fearful adventures are in store for us? All this timidity soon vanishes as class es succeed each other in monotonous routine and we get used to being called Freshmen. But we also lose our determination for hard work. It does not take us long to find we are back in the same old rut-and staying after school to pay homeworks. Most terrible of all, sorrow descends on the class and friend- ships are severed as a cruel separation takes place in our Algebra class where pupils and engineers must part. Time flits by and basketball season opens. The Freshmen are de- termined they shall not be licked . We breeze through our intramural sched- ule without a defeat and emerge the champions of '44. This is largely due to the leadership of our captain, Arturo Galan. Our contributions to the Missions and the Red Cross are as generous as we can make them. for we know that in this time of need it is our duty to give till it hurts.
