'WK SENlOR CLASS NOTES :X.f5C'Lf: Scarcely four years ago, we, the graduates of '44, timidly entered St. Ioseph's Academy and cautiously looked up and down the halls. True, we were now in high school and were quite boastful about it, but we were still puzzled as to what high school was like. From the ominous glances cast in our direction by the upper classmen we formed a dread premonition of what was to come, but as the weeks passed and we settled down to high school life the premonition vanished. Now, as this happy carefree life is drawing to a close, we find our hearts filled with a mingled feeling of joy and sorrow. Yes, we are uncertain as to whether we are happy or sorry to be finishing high school. We are hap- py and elated at the thought that we are about to graduate, but we are also reluctant to give up the intimate friendship that has flowered during our brief years with our teachers and classmates. Everything we have taken part in while in high school such as First Friday Communion and Mass, dances, games, and St. Ioseph's Day Celebrations have bound us to our fellow pupils and classmates with such strong bonds of friendship that we will never forget the day we will no longer be able to share their pleasant and cheerful company. Before we go to take our place in this never ending contest called life, we wish to thank the Marists Brothers of St. Ioseph's Academy, from the bot- tom of our hearts, for the sacrifices they have made to endow us with their knowledge, teaching and good example. As grateful alumnii of St. Ioseph's Academy, we solemnly promise to carry the Christian teachings and ideals of the school with us wherever we shall go and as inspiration for whatever we shall do.
