Our monthly school paper, the Eagle. has just completed its seventh year of publication. The united efforts of the largest staff ever helped it to attain its high school journalistic heights. However it is a nucleus of tireless volunteers under the guiding hand of Rev. Brother Gilbert that made this publication such a success. Roger Painchaud. editor. in his column When and Why gave us month after month an over all view of the activities at Saint Louis. Robert Cartier, assistant editor and ardent work- er. devoted hours either writing articles or enlivening the pages with an emblasoned heading or humorous cartoon. Two other budding artists. Howard Simmons and Amos Merrow. lend a helping hand after our expert artist. The stall of the Eagle 1956 consists of seven members tpictured abovel along with the advisory committee of Sister Ste. Claire, Sister Mary Loyola. Brother Conrad, Brother Robert and Brother Roger. The theme of the yearbook as you have noticed. is Maine. What has Maine to offer to so many tourists? Well, just look at the division pages of this book which capture some of Maine's beauty. These cluhs were introduced over the past year and included: 'l'he Speech and llehate Cluh. the llranlatics Cluh, the Science Club, the Arts Cluh and the Junior Science Club, The faculty recognized the great need for these activities. and 1955-56 was the in- troductory year. Field trips were carried out hy the scientific groups. Debate contests were attended hy the ahle speakers, one-act plays were the end result of our new thcspians. and Art students looked at nature in a new light.
