I For three long years, we, the Juniors, like sturdy mountain climbers, have scaled energetically the steep mountain of High School Learning. The ascent has not always been smooth. To some, the high cliffs of mathematics, the huge boulders of science, or the gap- ing precipices of foreign languages have appeared as unsurmountable obstacles. From time to time, one of our number, preferring the green mountain-slope of Well-Enough to the higher peak of Greater Knowledge, would drop on the way. Others have wavered in their decision, but encouraged by the fine example of their predecessors who have so valiantly persevered up the steep ascent, a good number of us have steadily, if slowly, progressed upward. The patience and understanding of skillful guides, our devoted teachers, have smoothed many a rough spot for our unexperienced feet. When tempted to slide down an easy trail back to the Vale of Mediocrity, we have been prompted by them to maintain the struggle along the rougher path of Good Scholarship. Now that we see the last year coming around the bend, since we realize how vitally important in view of the future is the steadfast pursuit of our aim, we look forward without too much apprehension to undertaking the conquest of the summit. With a proud flourish, we raise still higher 'fthe Blue and Goldn, dear symbol of a school we love. May it wave over the last period of our ascent as it has waved over our prolonged efforts of the past, to serve, at the end of another year, as a sign of our victory when at last our goal is reached. 2 in-n lil ,df r m l. Que de difficultes ont ete parse- mees sur notre route, que d'heures sombres et parfois decourageantes se sont fait sentir devant les construc- tions et problemes geometriques, aux temps des traduc- tions latines et des esquisses de signes stenographiques. Quels soupirs et quels gemissements! L'eneouragement de nos tnaitres et rnaitresses, en plus du soutien rnutuel, nous a fait entrevoir le sucees qui eouronne les efforts soutenus et perseverants. A la fin de notre deuxierne annee du Cours Super- ieur, nous, les Sophonlores, sornrnes fiers d'ax'oi1' co- opere avec nos professeurs qui se Cll2ll'gCI'lI de notre in- struction et de notre education. Ainsi nous nous pre- parons avec plus d'eHicaeite 21 jouer notre role dans le monde. Il nous reste encore deux annees pour continuer notre developpcment intellectuel et religieux sous la garde de prolesseurs cornpetents. Profitons-en et soyons confiantsg le bon Dieu nous accordera le succes en au- tant que nous ferons notre part. C'est avec regret que nous voyons partir les Seniors qui ont ete pour nous de vrais amis. Nous leur souhai- tons bien du succes et du bonheur dans la carriere qu'ils choisiront.
