Although the boys did not have an exceptional num- ber of victories, the spirit was there. With the aid and support of the students, faculty and parishioners, the teams were able to parti- cipate in the usual sports. Our pastor, Rev. Father Hammes, was very helpful in securing transportation and the needed equipment, and we Wish to give him a vote of thanks. Our thanks also to Jim Kelly, who acted as coach and general manager for the boys, and who did a splendid job throughout the season. Our very peppy cheer leaders for the high school were the Freshman girls, Jean Werline, Carolyn Smith and Barbara Leavell. OCTOBER 6 Cherej vs ELWOOD FROSH. The Trojans catapaulted the season with a 13-7 victory. OCTOBER 13 Cthereb vs NOBLESVILLE MiLLERs. VVe were again proved the better tCZlm with a wide margin of 19-6. OCTOBER 15 Ctherej vs TIPTON BLUE DEv1Ls. Our Hrst defeat Cthough not lastj brought us a 6-31 whipping. OCTOBER 18 Cherej vs ELYVOOD FROSH. We didn't win, but we tied them 7-7. OCTOBER 22 Cthereb vs ALEX TIGERS. A bloody battle, with us on the short end of a 44-0 score. OCTOBER 25 there, vs NOBLESVILLE. What a come-back! A great victory for S.J.S.--result, 13-0. R OCTOBER 30 fherel vs TIPTON. Another defeat, but we did hold them to two touch-downs, 14-12. NOVEBIBER 2 Ctherej vs WESTFIELD. Fate smiled on us, and we won our last game, 14-13. 0550
