CALENDAR, 1939-1940 SEPTEMBER . . . 11-School opened with High Mass in honor of the Holy Ghost. 12-Billy Sigward added to the 22 members of the Sopho- more Class. 21-Lost the first football game of the season to Elwood High. 27-Defeated by Frankfort Sophs- 13-0. 29-We're getting better- tied Anderson 7-7. OCTOBER . . . 1-Children of Mary Sunday. Perfect attendance. 4-The Freshies get initiated. Boy, can they take it! 6-First Friday breakfast. We made 54.00. 11-Played Noblesville here- 13-13. 18-We had our first candy sale for the Missions. And I made Sl5l2.00. , 24-We won our first game- St. Ioe's, 185 Cathedral, 0. I 30-Hallowe'en dance. Served punch and cookies, and had , I IVOVEMBER . . . I 1-Our last game and We beat Anderson, 14-12. Hurray! 5-Children of Mary Sunday. 1001. 7-Bob Dauenhauer dug the first shovel of dirt for the I Sisters' Home. 22-We led the Sisters' turkey around the school. a grand time. DECEMBER . . . 13-The first basketball game of the season with St. lVIary's of Anderson- beaten 49-54. 19-Sophomore boys put on a play called, A Christmas Front. 20-Played Noblesville and won- 32-25. 21-Christmas Exchange and Party. 22-Santa Claus came and candy was distributed by the K. of C. JANUARY . . . 1--The lNew Year welcomed with many cheers. 3-School again opens after Christmas vacation. ' 4-Edward Filiatreau visited the Sophomore Class, and T lectured on St. Meinrad's Seminary. 18-Played Tipton and won- 28-27. Good work, team! 30-Skating party. A lot of accidentsg a lot of fun. 31-Taffy pull and we didn't smear up the kitchen, either. Oh, no! FEBRUARY . . . 1-Candy sale. Did we have fun? 4-Children of Mary Sunday. No relapse in attendance. 7-Ash Wednesday. Beginning of Lent and sacrifices. 13-Played St. Patrick of Kokomo and WON Csurprisell 38-30. 14-St. Valentine's Day. Exchange of valentines. 25-C.Y.O. Tourney. 29-A day to remember, for we won't see it again for IWARCH 4 years. 1-First Friday Breakfast. 20-Snow on the first day of Spring. Easter Vacation begun at noon. 21-Holy Thursday: visits made by school children. 22-Good Fridayg good attendance by children during the Tre Oren services. . 24-Easter Sunday. High Mass at 8:00.
