Although the Latin Club is the most recent addition to S.J.R.'s activi- ties, it is making rapid progress. The Latin Club publishes a Latin newspa- per, Acta Viridium Equitumf' The newspaper provides individual ex- pression through its various articles, which include fiction, non-fiction and humor. The Latin Club has succeeded in its primary functions, to stimulate interest in Latin and to provide Latin students with a means of - a- 1 -,,,,,, ,,-l ',Vp , exercising their familiarity with the language. ' Since discussion of current events is the issue of the day, the Debating ' Club attempts to establish opinions through an orderly presentation of l't t'i'1 1 iii -L tgt' ilygi V H lacts. The debates are not limited to members of this activity, but are V open to all members of the school. With diligence and perseverance, the e t -el-- 1 t --' 1 members of this club prepare for future victories in the field of rhetoric.

From its humble beginnings five years ago. the Glee Club now numbers over thirty members. a valid cross-section of the sehool's student body. The increased interest is due in part to the inher- ent desire to express oneself both vocally and ar- tistically. A more important reason for its growth. however. is the effort expended by its instructor and moderator. Mr. Peter Miraglia. The Glee Club's latest venture, the production of Bye Bye Birdie, will be presented during the spring. too late to appear in this edition of Aegis.
