IRENE BYRON HOSPITAL The senior students spent a six weeks affiliation studying the various stages of tuberculosis, its incidence, social implications, including rehabilitation, prevention, and principles of nursing care. NURSING THE MENTALLY ILL The Affiliation for psychiatric nursing is taken at the Dr. Norman M. Beatty Memorial Hospital, Westville, Indiana, for three months. There the students study the etiology, dynamics, symtomatology and treatment of the common mental disorders. Emphasis is placed on the application of communicative skills in interpersonal rela- tionships and the utilization of psychiatric concepts to better understand self and others. : 29
