Knowledge-a complex part of life Perhaps the National Honor Society seems like an impossible dream to many students but each year girls are inducted into our Lampadarii Chapter. Each member must prove herself in the areas of scholarship, leadership, char- acter and service. Her marks are proof of her scholarship and the other traits are graded by the faculty. Under the direction of Sr. Scholas- tica, the members manage the book store, tutor fellow students, and spon- sor It ' s Academic. Seniors Linda Siconolfi, Jean Beil, Ellen Zanfini and Lynn Radonic culminate four years of hard work with their induction into the National Honor Society. One of the duties of National Honor Society members is to manage the school book store. Seniors Jean Beil and Lynn Radonic ready the supplies for another morning ' s business. Congratulations are in order as two newly in- ducted members of the National Honor Society, Lynn Radonic and Ellen Zanfini receive best wishes from both friends and relatives. The girls are planning the campaign to help defray the cost of our Language lab by selling plastic animals. The Student Council functions as a coor- dinating organization for the student body. The main objective of the Council is to instill a deeper concern for the Hill ' s welfare into each student. The meetings held approximately every two weeks generate ideas between faculty and students. One of the proposals acted on by the Coun- cil this year was shortening the school day. Transforming the hope for a swim team into a reality was also accomplished. The twenty- three girls elected as representatives carry the responsibilities of understanding, leadership and dependability. Caught in the act, Pat Severino, Student Council Presi- dent, looks surprised as the camera spots her counting money from the latest Student Council project. 54
