PRINCIPAL June, 1988 Dear graduates, This message to the graduates of the Class of ' 68 has been dated June, 1988 since yearbook messages from the principal are usually never read until twenty years later. There is little hope that the message will have had any meaning in 1968 amid the complications of commencement. Time seems to lend more sense to sage advice. June, 1988 is four years past 1984, four years past the dire predictions associated with this time. How have you prepared to make 1988 a better year than was expected? Did your schooling at St. Joseph prepare you to meet the challenges of the 70 ' s and 80 ' s? Now we can talk about the mean¬ ing of our high school days .... now that commencement is pretty well on its way. 1968 was a great year; it started you on the way and to prepare you to take part in the great life of 1988. Study, hard work, saving and sacrifice brought you to the leisure of the 80 ' s. Was it all worth it? Are you making sure your children are prepared for an even greater future?
