The aim of the Science Department is to widen the intellectual horizons of the student through the study of the physical sciences. By means of experi- mentation, observation and logical de- duction, the intellect of thc student is shown the finger of God in the wonders of the universe. The science cur- riculum includes hiology, general sci- ence, and two different courses in physics and in chemistry. Serious and sedate, chemists Greenwald and Campbell perfect their methods in chem lah experimentation. .3 naw vu A 'ff' hgL +-- .., is The Social Studies Department through its courses in history, civics. and sociology endeavors to develop in the students a sound growth in the Catholic ethic. Through his knowledge of Illilll-S social and political history. the student of today prepares himself to he the Christian leader of tomorrow. Bringman explains to McCormick why he has substantial proof that Utah is part of the United States. The Technical Survey Course enables the student to prepare intel- ligently for a career in the trades. Offering courses in Woodworking, Auto- motives, Electricity and Mechanical Drawing, the program provides varied experiences in both theory and practice. The student gains a first-hand knowl- edge of each trade's requirements and learns how he can use his aptitudes in the trade of his choice.
