THE MOST REVEREND EDWARD F. HOBAN, S.T.D., Ph.D., L.L.D. While serving the faithful of the diocese for the past fourteen years, Archbishop Hoban has labored continuously for the advancement of Christian educa- tion. The beautiful home of the Vikings, completed in 1952, is but one example of our A1'chbishop's solici- tude for meeting the needs of our diocese's growing school population.

Dear Graduates of 1960: The history of your senior year has also been the history of the close of the first decade of St. Joseph High School. As a class, you have made excellent use of the exceptional opportunities offered to you at this school-opportunities for physical, intel- lectual, social and spiritual growth. Each one of you, however, must decide for him- self whether he now can characterize his four years here as successful. In coming to a decision, let these three questions guide you: fAre you convinced that you, personally, have a God-given mission in life, a mission which you alone can fulfill? 4H ave you developed a solid, manly, and apos- tolic devotion to the Blessed Virgin? i'Have you reached a point in your mental de- velopment where you are serious about your continued intellectual progress? If you can answer these questions in the affirma- tive, you may sincerely believe that your high school days have been successful. God bless you, and Mary keep you always, and may you ever re- main 'gloyal and true to your Viking Code. In ,l.M..l., Principal Atlus, ELM...
