Retreat Masters Stress Importance Of Charity On January 31, twenty-three sophomore, junior, and senior girls took a chartered bus to Colorado Springs for a closed retreat at El Pomar retreat house. Father Bernard Burback, 0.S.B., gave the conferences. -Simultaneously the annual retreat for the rest of the students was given by Father Joseph Pohl, CSSR, a missionary priest. Special days were set aside for the underclassmen and for the upperclassmen. The clos- ing ceremonies were held for the entire student body on February 2. May Crowning Honors Uur Blessed Mother MAY QUEEN ATTENDANT Rose Lee Pfannenstiel This year the Crowning Ceremony was held on May 18 at 1 p.m. Mercy Marquez, with her escort Frank Rjno, student body president, made her way through an Honor Guard of junior and senior boys to crown the statue of Our Lady arranged in the sanctuary amid palms and beautiful flowers. MAY QUEEN ATTENDANT Jeanette Brockman During May each year the entire student body assembles at St. Joseph Church tok honor our Blessed Mother under the title of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The Queen's Court is composed of the senior girls attired in formals. The two attendants, one carrying the crown, and the other the Queenis bouquet precede her to the shrine.
