However, the buildings were in poor condition, and the depression halted all efforts to undertake any' large-scale projects. The Spirit Bannerf given to the class which excelled in the school, was inaugurated in 1931 A notable feature of those days was the number of well remembered plays presented rt the school Brother Herbert is at present professor of Sociology at St Mary s Unner sity in San Antonio flvlvlsbfvkvls 1911 Brskctbill tc 1 was to plan for the new school and to organize financial matters Mr oseph Wfearden was elected chairman Others on the Foundation included such men as Streckfus O C Matthews Larkin Smith Dennis OConnor Tom Ofonnor r Vincent lritz Arthur XVearden and W C Xvillemin The Iathers Club mth Mr Wfilliam Reuter as President was organized in February 1936 Groundbreaking for the new school took place in june 1937 and by spring the school was ready With it came accreditation and the new St Josephs on the new location was a reality Brother Frank Britz is now vice principal at St Michaels High School in Chicago BRO I Hl R IRANR BRVIZ S lN 11711 1921-31 f ' 4 -.in . , , . . - - 1 .
