Che Game af the year November -I, 1955, was the evening of the big game. Corpus Christi's powerful Cavaliers in- vaded Victoria heavily fa- vored to take the Flyer's title away. To the amazement and delight of the fans that night, the old Flyer fight was there and the lighter St. joseph line held Cor- pus' fast backs in check. Then lightning struck. Knipling faded back on the 49-yard line and fired to Marthiljohni, who made a juggling catch on the ten and went over untouched. Dan Sitterle converted to put the Flyers ahead 7-O, The crowd roared as the Flyers came back again, Knipling fired to Tasin to set up the second TD, on an 8-yd. pass from Pollard to Marthiljohni. Corpus scored in the third quarter, but the line broke through to block the extra-point. The exciting game ended with Corpus on the Flyer five-yard line. Final score: Flyers 13, Corpus 6. The Flyers were champions once again! Baker around the Corpus left end. X.. .. r '-0 Raise aloft the mighty cheer in the dressing room.
