Don Pietrzak, graduate of the class of '45, held the coaching reins of the Buccaneers basketball team throughout the season. He drove the Bucs through the V.P.L. schedule and ended up in fourth place in the Valley Standings. Peter and Paul and a semi-pro football player, returned to St. Iosephs for his second year as head coach and found himself handicapped with lack of experi- enced players and reserves. The spark that was necessary to get theni rolling in every garne was lacking. ln all probability the losses were due to the lack oi experience of the substitutes. All most all the games were deten- sive. To hold their own was all they were able to do. ln all ot their garnes, but one were they outclassed, the other teams were unable to do anything until the Bucs had tired in the last halt.
