Unique and shining are his achievements in education ventures. The results of which have seen not only a national reputation but far more important, an educational system that knows little of the hardship and suffering common to private education. For his loving care and concern we thank him now and glory in the greater gratitude that the success of future generations will bring to him. We know our days under his guidance have been fruitful.

He holds the titles of Vicar General and Promoter of Justice. He heads the Diocesan Council of Administra- tion and is on the Boards of Priestly Activities and Catholic Action. Since his appointment as Junior Auxiliary Bishop of Cleveland on September 2, 1953, he has honored St. Joseph's by his presence on various occasions. This present year, Bishop Krol oiflciated at the consecration ofthe Sacrificial Altars in the Boys, chapel in the school, and the Brothers' chapel in the Faculty Residence. The Most Reverend Floyd L. Begin, S.T.D., Ph.D. .l.C.D. His Excellency, Bishop Begin, is one of the auxiliary bishops of the diocese. He holds the position of one of the Vicars General and director of the 'diocesan Eucharistic Congress. Besides spending much of his time carrying out the Arch- bishopis plan of Catholic action, and confirming people throughout the diocese, he still Finds time to officiate at various other functions. One of these extras was the presiding at the graduation exercises of St. ,losephis class of 1956, for which we are extremely grateful. I .... . ...,... ..eti , .f., f fe,: 3 I E' . fa yi 5 1 We at St. Joseph have many to thank and for so much and included among these is Monsignor Clarence Elwell, tfi who is constantly striving to maintain and increase the 1 high standrards of Catholic Secondary education in the Diocese of Cleveland. He was ordained on March 17, 1929 and since then his , . time has been spent in one phase or the other in foster- ing efforts for the enlightenment of Catholic youth. His success is beyond question.
