Valedictorian Aileen Napier, the valedictorian of the class of 1914, is a fine example of the success which may he accomplished by one who has constantly before her the very best motives and incentives which it is the purpose of education to iinpart. Her success and high standing as a student have been due primarily perhaps to industry. energy, and a pronounced sense of honor and recognition of duty. Because of these qualities as well as her natural winning personality, she is universally recognized by the members of her class as richly deserving of the honor conferred upon her. Salutatorian Genette Pixley, winner of second scholarship honors. and consequently the salutatorian of the class, is likewise worthy of the greatest commendatiou for the qualities of character which she has displayed as a scholar in the schools of St. Joseph. Her conscientious performance 0 duty, coupled with perhaps unusual powers of application, have resulted in the winning of this distinction. 14 f
