Yfljlzen fize .fgcfion .96 Swik Al Litwa relied on his underclassmen to fill out the varsity team. Being the only senior on the team, Charles Andruszka took the brunt of the load upon his shoulders, that of guiding the rookies while on the court. The Bison Captain shone in every roll that he undertook. Not so tall as some opponents, he constantly outfought and out- rebounded them to lead the team in ball- hawking. Boxscores and high scoring do not always show the value of a player and Charlie belongs to this talented group. lf there were a rookie of the year award it would surely go to Tony Martin. This 5-ll sophomore not only led the team in scoring but gave valuable aid under the' boards and in playmaking. A go-getter and leader at all times, Tony will surely be a future team star. Probably the biggest surprise of the group was junior, Al Morton. Seeing only limited action his first two years, Al suddenly acquired a phenomenal one hand shot that hit with deadly accuracy from every angle and made him a solid starter, Frank Schiavo and Chris Grieco were two welcome newcomers to the Red and White Frank, a six footer is one of those players who chucks in six or seven points a game, gets a fair share of the rebounds, does a dog job on defense and is very handy to have on the team, Chris, the big man on the team at 54 , is the man who finds the pivot to his liking. Many a point and many a rebound has he grabbed from that spot, Promising to be a potent team in the future years, the Bisons can look forward to such youngsters as Vic Musciano, Don Sommers. and Ted Kompa. These lads, although never experiencing var- sity action, were called on many times to play a starting and a starring role in decisive encounters. Coaches, Al Litwa and Ray Ford can look back at their past season with pride over their countless accomplishments with such an in- experienced squad.
