X Ioseph Daniszewsl-ci, editor-in-chief of the 'lrnpressionsu explains the prfn- X ciples of newspaper layout to bud- ding Journalists, Maryann Orzechowski and Carole Toczylowsl-:i who show 1nterest in all phases of journalism, Doing something worthwhile and at the same time deriving some enjoyment from their efforts is the rule of life for the Impressions staff members. The fruits of their labor are contained in the recognition which the paper has achieved: All-Catholic honors from the Catholic Press Association, and First Place awards from the National, Columbia, and Quill and Scroll Press Associations, Within the pages of the publication are the hopes and dreams of the young journalists. It is visual proof of the unfaltering work spent in its preparation. But staff life isn't all toil and drudgery. It is interspersed with interesting programs provided for the benefit of the high school staff. Among these activities are the Villanova Press Conference and the Drexel Conference sponsored by the Columbia Press Association. 4 l.M.p.R.E.5.5.l.Q.N. Busy beavers one and all are members of the Impressions staff. Diligent work and willing cooperation have achieved for the annual the following awards: All-Catholic from the Catholic Press Associa- tion, and First Place recognition from both the National and Columbia Press Associations. Although yearbook competition has steadily grown keener annually, nevertheless, the Cordon has become an award-winning an- nual and has made its way to the top T-H-E Watch the birdie! Seated are Veronica Cisek, Lillian Kaminki, business manager, Kathleen Szalanski, Joanne Marini, editor-in-chief, and Ioyce Gross. The Cordon staff devotes many hours alter school to planning and compiling the annual. Some of the work includes picture cropping, layouts, caption writing, cmd art work. -www E
