Shaw, past teacher at St. Joseph High School. His friendship and humor will long be treasured by his former stu- dents, for he was a teacher who understood the student. McKIBBEN - Political Science Sponsored by: SOUTHERN DRY CLEANERS and CENTRAL MEAT MARKET 9 HE STOOD FOR SOMETHING. These words were said of Mr. Shaw at his funeral services. Can it also be said of you? Or do you sway with every wind that blows? Is there something solid about you that will keep you standing straight and tall when troubles, doubt, or sorrows blow about you? Have you found an anchor that keeps your feet on the ground in the tornado of change that you will be caught up in? Or will you fall apart the first time you have to make a decision on your own? Is there any one or any thing that can help you find this solidity? Yes, there is - if you want it. There is Christ and his teaching of concern for your fellowman. There is the belief that you are important to God, that he is as close to you as you are willing to seek him out and accept him. But Christ only INVITES you to come close; you must take a forward step to reach out to him. He offers peace, but at the expense of giving up a part of yourself - and only you have the power to give it. Now, at graduation, it is time to make a decision. Will you walk with Christ - or without him? May God be with you always! 10 SENIORS '71 MARIA De MARCO JOE ECK LARRY FREYALDENHOVEN Treasurer MARGUERITE GRUMMER ARTHUR HARVEY ROSE HOYT MIKE QUIRK STEVE QUIRK BECKY KORDSMEIER PAULA MARCOTTE ANITA HENZE STEVE SCHREKENHOFER RAY NABHOLZ PAUL SIEBENMORGEN MARCELLA SIMON CHRIS SIMON STEVE SWAFFAR Vice-President MICHELE MEYER DEBBIE NAHLEN Secretary DAVID STRACK SCOTT THORNTON President DEBBIE TROILLET RITA WORM ON BEING A HIGHSCHOOL SENIOR dull days of useless com- ings and gainings false smiles slow wasted hours these blaspheme the soft spring breeze - that just now begins to blow. so much time to spare that daydreams don't dare to be enough for me i need more: things like no walls and narrow halls or clocks and bells to tell me when to go but things that let me live as sunrays do: dancing through the air bound by no wall of warning words, not bound by anything at all Except the darkness of the night after the sun has gone . . .
