It relieves the faculty, already on a strained schedule, of extra burdens. Contrary to popular opinion, it is not prudent to take it easy during the junior year if one has any aspirations of becoming a Student Councilor. It is at the end of this year that the following year's group of candidates are selected on the basis of leadership, cooperation, prudence, reliability, and scholarship. If some rowdy individual seeks undue attention by acting in a disgraceful manner, a suitable penance is rendered, or a ticket to the Student Court is bestowed free of charge. A common misconception of habitual rabble-rousers is that the Court is not just and that it demonstrates partiality towards Councilors. In proving that the Court is not partial, all one need do is point out that a number of seniors, and few Councilors, have been tried and found guilty. As for being unjust, the judges have not heard one case wherein the malefactor of good has put forth any sort of sound defense, but rather using equivocation and mental reservation to deceive justice. In conclusion, we of the Student Council wish to thank Brother Christopher, our one-man Central Intelligence Agency, for his sagacious assistance. 70 v Officers of the Student Council, James Carroll, Paul Holody, Charles McCann, Donald Samull discuss a case.
