History of E STOOD as freshmen in September 1951. High School seemed like a long and rocky road stretching far ahead, almost beyond our reach,St. Joe's caught usin its spell almost immediately. The man- liness, the spirit, all took our breath away, Brother Anthony J050Ph was principal at that time, with our present principal Brother Walter and Brother Conrad Stephen assisting him. Our homeroom teachers were: lA.-Brother Conrad Stephen,lB-Mr.Carney, 1C-Brother Stephen, ' 1D-Mr. Chevalier. Athletic-wise we had anything but a good year. We lost the oil can, 7-Og won only two basketball games all year: finished second in track, but did manage to take the baseball championship but then lost to Lourdes in Briggs Stadium. S SOPHOMORES, we became old hands at this thing called high school. Besides scorning the freshmen, we began tp take an active part in the school activities. Brother Joseph continued as principal, and Mr.Creedon took over as basketball coach. Second year teachers were: 2A-Brother Victor, 2B-Mr. Carney, 2C-Brother Dominic, 2D-Mr. Udell, Again we had a had athletic season. We lost the oil can, 13-65 won one game in basketball, lost our newly-won baseball championship, but man- aged to take home the track championship.
