MESSAGE FROM THE FACULTY Whenever we look at the long line of graduates marching in cap and gown to the strains of Pomp and Circumstance, we wonder just what the future holds for these brave young hearts that are facing the world as graduates. In a recent Catholic magazine, a noted educator remarked that her own recipe for happiness is education. With her, we agree that the women with little formal education may achieve happiness for herself and others. Then, this author sets out to re-evaluate our concept of education. Without going into the article in detail, we should like to tell you, dear graduates, what your teachers feel will go far in helping you to attain happiness in the world you are about to enter. To put the recipe in a few words, it is this - THINK WITH Tl-IE CHURCH. That may sound triteg it may even sound easy. And at the moment it probably is easy. However, as the years go by and problems come up - and they will come up - your best, your only solution, is the answer of Mother Church. She has all the answers, dear girls. True, it will not always be easy to say, I know the Church is right. It will be more likely that you will reason thus: Yes, Iknow what the Church teaches, but my case is different. No, dear graduates, your case is as old as the world. The Church has given the answer centuries ago. Let us plead, then that you keep before you this good Mother, and heed her teachings all your life long. That you may do this, that your lives may be those of exemplary Catholics, that you may thus achieve real happiness in this world and prepare yourselves for the unending happiness of heaven is the wish and prayer of Your loving teachers, THE FACULTY OF ST. JOSEPH HIGH
