TO THE. FACULTY Your loving smiles made the sun seem brighter, They made each task at Seton lighter, Your words of wisdom were kind and true, And for your kindness we're grateful to you. We thank you, dear Sisters, for all you have done, For days of work and for days of fun. The memory of you we shall always hold ln our hearts, as we follow your standards of gold. ALMA MATER Seton Hill, dear Alma Mater ln our hearts will live forever. We, the class of '38, sing these words ever mindful of the joy, hope, and happiness that has been ours during our years at Seton Hill. l-lere we have lived under the guidance and inspira- tion of those who have sacrificed all to develop within us the ideals of Mother Seton-the virtues of kindness, purity, truth-all so necessary for the Catholic young woman today. Wher- ever We go, whatever we do, we shall be loyal to the standards set forth by our Alma Mater, by trying to live the life of a true Seton Hill Girl. But the memories of these cherished days-the self-sacrificing Sisters, our delightful classes, those dreaded ex- aminations, the longed-for cornroasts, the carefree weekends, the Hswishingn dances, the playful pranks-will hold our hearts forever to dear Seton l-lill. As we are about to leave the school which for four years has been our happy abode, we feel a sense of sad- ness for perhaps never again shall We be gathered together as the class of '38, Today as we stand on the thres- hold of our Alma Mater well-fitted to take our places in the world, our prayer is one of hope, that we shall be true and loyal standard bearers of the gold and white, and that we shall live always within the brilliant rays of Seton's guiding star. THE SETON HILL GIRL Curly hair, bright ,dancing eyes, soft Iilting voice, springy step-these de- scribe the outward appearance of the Seton Hill girl. Always happy, ready to help anyone who needs assistance, she is characterized by responsibility, leadership, good example, and scholar- ship. One school may turn out the adventurer, another, the social leader, a third, the student, but the Seton Hill girl is an individual type. She is not the student only, nor the social leader only, nor the adventurer only, but to be ideal she must represent the best in all these types. She must be able to think aright, to use her knowledge to the best advantage, to draw others to 1 I her high ideals, and to be unselfish in giving to others. Although she may not have an A average, the Seton Hill girl works hard and does the best she can. She is refined, studious, re- served, and, most important of all, she has a sterling character. I-Ier honor is above dispute, and her every action is above reproach. Because she is trustworthy, pleasant, and a lady at all times, the Seton, Hill girl is loved by all and will never be without a host of friends. She makes a good daugh- ter, sister, wife, mother, secretary, exe- cutive, or whatever duty or position she may undertake, the Seton Hill girl will always be happy. B.
