WE HAVE LOVED THEM IN LIFE The Reverend Edward R. Dempsey Chaplain, January 6, 1955 to January 27, 1959 Through you dear Lady, we the students and faculty of Saint Joseph Academy, commend the soul of our beloved chaplain, Father Dempsey, to your Divine Son. It is very fitting and proper that we do this, for here upon earth his life was that of your Son, the Good Shepherd, caring for the needs of His assigned flock in total surrender to the will of God through his deep filial devotion to you, His Mother. Planting in our minds the seed of knowledge of our religion, Father was always on hand to supply the spiritual food needed to help it grow into a deep-rooted way of life. It is in thanksgiving to God for His priests, and in particular for His loving care in sending us such a devoted, undersatnding, and priestly priest that we again ask you, Our Lady, to tuck our beloved Father Dempsey deep within the folds of your mantle of love and present him to the Eternal Judge. Requiescat in Pace. Page 7
