A . 3 lf' No organization can run smoothly without leadership. ln the case of St. Joseph Academy, that leadership is supplied by the Administration, At the reigns is Bro. Francis Garza. He has the responsibility of seeing that nothing goes vvrong with the running of the school. If something does go wrong, he must correct it. His right hand man, Brother Patrick must enforce all of the school rules and see that Bro. Francis' orders are carried out. This entails carrying out disciplinary measures when such action is warranted. Having his re- sponsibilities does not gain him much popularity with some students, but the final outcome is worth it. Mrs. l.. Tamayo, the secretary at the main office is of invaluable service to Bros. Francis and Patrick, keeping track of all business carried on in the office. Bro. John is in charge of the financial aspect of the school. All monies must go through him first. About the only person who really knows how much money it takes to run this school is Bro. John. The only possible exception is possibly his aide, Business Secretary, Mrs. T. Barbosa. A Thunderous applause and the Band would srep onto the field for their half-time show. Led by their drum- majorette, Sandra Boker, spectacular shows were performed and highlight- ed by the very entertaining twirlers, Monique Crixell, Laurette Crixell and feature Twirler Bel-xi Mata. Basin Street Blues , Sweet Georgia Brown and Veracruz were sever- al of the band feature numbers this season. Adding spice to the shows were the ever-popular percussion section with their feature number, Russian Sailors' Dance. Our first-division band continued their musical year. Band students wander- ing throught the halls of St. Joe lools- ing for prospective buyers. Teachers, students and parents were all victims to sales pitches of the band members. All the fund-raising projects were to achieve the goal of the band-a trip to Washington, DC.
