Brother Aidan advises Riclsy Cardenas on his SAT test scores. Below: Mrs. Vela and Brother Robert confer on the Peer Group Counseling Program, The guidance office, which is under the leadership of Brother Aidan Thompson, is basically set up to assist students in order that each one may reach a point where hefshe is able to help himself. Through counseling a student is helped to develop acaf demicolly, socially and spiritually so that hefshe may be able to stand on his! her ovvn feet upon leaving St. Jo- seph Academy. The Peer Group Counseling, devel- oped especially for the Juniors, is un- der the direction of Mrs. Blanca Velo and Brother Robert Clarl-1. This group was formed with the hope that each student will benefit by helping others as well as acquiring insights and help from each other, The Peer Group leaders are six seniors who have un' dergone a three day vvorlsshop on this subject before the school year began, Brother Francis Farrell is responsible for the career section of the guidance office. He has gathered much infor' mation on the suqects of careers to supply to our students. Brother Kevin Brogan has organized a tutoring pro- gram for students with special needs.
