In word and prayer, we re- member Patricia St. George who died after open-heart sur- gery in June, 1964. Many of us still recall how generously Patty donated her time to Sodality and French Club. She Was a member of the 1965 graduating class. Marlene Loranger, who died of leukemia July 17, 1964, spent only a month of her freshman year at SJA. Although her time with us was short, she became a true member of our SJA family. We shall never forget Marlene's calm yet cheerful acceptance of her illness. She would have graduated with the class of 1967.

Mothers Exemplqjf the Dzgnily of Woman The time has come to reawaken an awareness of the dignity of woman. The foundation for this awareness is the radiant truth which shines forth in the life of our Blessed Mother, the ideal woman. As a person and as a mother, a young woman derives all of her dignity from God and His wise dispositions. Through Mary, God gave His only begotten Son that all men might be reborn to everlasting life. In the New Eve, the divine ideal of womanhood was given to the world. Through Christianity women were given an inalienable dignity which they are obliged to preserve, protect and increase. Our mothers having performed the primary function, the sublime mission of womanhood, and having patterned their motherhood after that of our Blessed Mother, truly exemplify the dignity of woman. We owe our mothers much. They have molded our characters through a deep love of God, since our infancy. They have gradually fortified our developing personalities by encouraging us in our moments of depression. They have guided us through our problems, rejoiced in our successes and comforted us in our failures. Our mothers gave us natural birth and are our guiding light through this life to life eternal. To pay tribute to our beloved mothers we dedicate this 1965 Jomara to them. In the words of Pope Pius XII Motherhood gives a woman so great a role in the working out of human destiny that this by itself is enough to make every man on the face of the earth, great or small as he may be, bow with reverence and love, in the presence of his mother.
