“THE KING AND I” Director Teresa Schmidt brought a ‘Touch of the Orient’ through this year’s musical “The King and I.” Mary Shawn LaViolette portrayed an Lng- lish school teacher who comes to Siam to teach the children and the wives of the stubborn King of Siam, played by Tom Millet. Kathy Trainor, as the lovetorn princess Tuptim, sang and acted superbly. Anne Strenski also did well in her portrayal of Lady Thiang. Those who are also note¬ worthy are, Mike Millet, Mark Merkatoris and Dan Rice. Accompanist was Marge Tarantino, technical director, Trudi Gog- gin, Make-up director Lynn Gokey and props by Carol Burtt and Geri Rentmees- ter. 26 Play

First, you were a member of Freshman Chorus - one of 110 girls. Then, you became a part of ftiter- mediate Chorus or Concert Choir. Now vou’re all in Concert Choir, some for one year and some for all three years. And six of you are in Swing Choir. Five of you have been in it for two years and one of you for all three. guess that feel that you reflect me. You ' ve had no other high school choral director. Most of what you’ve been taught. I’ve taught you. We re gone through a lot of learning to¬ gether. And you ' ve given me so much. You make me very happy and Fm very proud to have been your teacher. I’ll miss you all very much.
