We will never forget the years of service and friendship she gave to all of us here at S.J.A. Friend, we will remember you ... Success is a journey-not an end, Never a destination. Success is a good day ' s work well done, Success is preparation, A fearless facing up to life With purpose all the way. Success is not a distant thing, Success is everyday. The goal-the far horizon- Is but the guiding light That points the way our lives must go If we would reach the height; But never does success await That last triumphant climb- Success is step on upward step- Our journey into time. Longer than there are stars up in the heavens ... we will remember you. CHRIS ANN MANCHESKI entered into eternal life on May 28, 1980. By their efforts, money has been donated to a Peruvian mission, and Indian mission here in Wisconsin, to the Pro- pogation of the Faith, and to the construction fund for the new gym. Their giving spirit during the Thanksgiving holiday and their true spirit of Christmas pro¬ vided grateful families with food, clothing, money, and toys; and because of this, six children had a very, happy Christmas. Campus Ministry is a community concern and concept that is an integral part of being Christian women consciously involved in each others’ lives. Each time care is given a fellow members of our community we are all “campus ministers”. ROW 1: Meg Walsh, Kristen Wagner, Cathy Derks, Tina Krouth. Student Council began by selling ice cream cones and root beer at our annual outdoor Mass and “church social”. The sophomore magazine drive followed with great success! Our financially needy Athletic Dept, raised funds by having a pizza sale and two high energy fund-riasers, the Volleyball Play-a-thon and the Run-a-thon. There were sweatshirts and shorts, Buzz books and choco¬ late sales sponsored by Student Council, along with favorite daily popcorn sales. The yearbook and Newspaper earned funds through Advertising and Patron Ad Sales. Mrs. Nelson catered to our scholastic needs in the bookstore. Responsible for many extra pounds were the Key Club choco¬ late Easter eggs and weekly doughnuts, and the good food provided daily in the cafeteria by Manager, Dawn Jeanquart, cashier Lyn McGowan, and hostess, Sally VanderLoop. Art Club sold beautiful hand-printed Christmas Cards. Valentines Day brought “Singing Valentines” warbled by National Honor Society. A warm feeling of community was felt by all the students and faculty members present. Emotions ran high during the sign of peace, as seniors realized that their years at S. J. A. were drawing to a close. The Last Round-Up Howdie partners! The round-up is over, the gates have been closed, and all that remains are scraps of memories. Through the year we worked long and hard, and the harvest has proved plentiful. We owe a special thanks to our advisor, Mrs. Rentmeester, who really helped to keep us on the right trail. We’re also grateful to all our staffs who helped to steady the rocky ride. As the last pages are completed, we look back at the work involved in putting this yearbook together and realize that success is only achieved through hard work and effort. Our only hope is that you, the heart of Saint Joseph Academy can look back at this yearbook and recapture the feelings and memories of your high school years. : j’Mary Pierre and .
