Class History It was in the year 1944, thirteen years ago, that the renowned Class of '57 started on the long joumey by entering kindergarten. We completed our grammar school successfully and then joumeyed to the high school as seventh graders. Time seemed to fly, in 19 54 we found ourselves Freshmen. During our Fresh- men year, we held dances and food sales which proved highly successful. It was during February of that year that Mr. lQee joined our faculty and became our advisor. Though our treasury was small, as well as our class, we did not give up the struggle to achieve our goal, the Senior Trip, which is the dream of eve class. In orrlr Sophomore year we sold megaphones at the basketball games and also made wreaths at Christmas time. Both of these ventures were a success. We began our Junior year full of excitement and ready to order our class rings, which arrived around Thanksgiving time. We sold purple and gold pencils with our school name. All of these added to our treasury. ln May our Junior-Senior Prom came with A Blossom Fell as our theme. The much-dreaded class night which had petrified us for so many years had come and gone before we realized it. Now came the big year. Our class had dwindled down to a mere twenty, after losing some familiar faces and gaining some new ones. Our first big money making project was the selling of magazine sub- scriptions. We also sponsored movies and started work on our yearbook. After caroling through the halls of the school we presented our annual Christmas program in the high school auditorium. On January fourteenth and sixteenth after much ado we finally presented our Senior Play, a comedy, You'l.l Die Laughing. The play was directed by Mr. Klee. Although we sweated right to the opening night, we had a lot of fun putting it on. This proved most entertaining to all, so our hard work wasn't in vain. Our Prom in the spring was a gala affair attended by many. Soon the moment we'd been waiting for arrived, our Senior trip, which took us to Washington for a very enjoyable week. In June, the girls were entertained at a tea given by the Junior girls. Without realizing it the end of the year was upon us. Class night came, awaited by all, to seal the doom of the Juniors. Next followed baccalaureate. Finally came graduation--a fitting climax to our twelve wonderful years. . 4 Q . pp W , .
