From my talk with her I Vino but she's still punching the keys of the cash reqister, only in her own grocery store chain. Stan b. inherited the lumker business and is stil' usawing lons.n Vhy, here comes the director-vocalist of that famed hand, the Sterdwsters, Jon C. Their last recording sold over a million copies. ns! On a bright day in September 1942, we, the exceptional class of '55, started our long journey through school, We completed grammar school successfully and started the long walk up the steep hill to start our days as seventh graders, We then found we couldn't rule the school as we had while we were in sixth grade, As time went on, we found ourselves Freshmen with Mr, Zimmerman as our advisor. During our Freshman year we had many successful dances and food sales. One of the main highlights of our Sophomore year was our Western Dance with music by the uhange d1ders.u we also decided we had to have money for our USenior Tripu so we sold purple and gold pennants with the name of our school printed on them. We began our Junior year by again selling purple and gold pencils and pennants, In January, we finally received our class rings for which we had been waiting eleven long years, Our Junior-Senior Prom came in hay with 'Moonlight Serenadeu as our theme. We had the annual tea for the Seniors and the Faculty in June, It was a group of scared Juniors that sat in the front row on nClass Nlghtu wondering what our fate would be and thinking that next year would be our turn, We are proud to boast that ours has been the first class fortunate enough to have two advisors, Mr. Tripp and Mr. Ferris. Our Senior year began with the selling of magazine subscriptions, candy, and sponsoring movies. Our Senior Play, 'It's Great To Be Crazyn, e farce comedy, was presented on November 12 and 13. It was directed by Mr. Klee and was both entertaining and successful. With April came our Senior Trip which we all had been working for these long years. We enjoyed our trip to Washington D. C. and New York City on the Van Zile Tours very much--especially the long train ride which was the first trip to the big cities for most of us. In May, with a beautiful spring theme we had our Senior Prom. As the year drew to a close,we had that ever famous'Class Nightn, then Baccalaureate, and finally the big moment we had been waiting for--Commencement, We were all a little sad as we sat on the stage thinking we were finally ending those carefree days at St. Johnsville High School. 16
