New Fellows Program Gives Teachers Experience The new Fellows Project, founded by Mr. Cummings, Mr. Trottier, and Mr. Aldredge, gives participants the opportunity to see what the career of teaching offers. In addition, Fellows serve as proctors in the expanded dormitory program. Each year four people will participate. Mr. Peter O’Brien, who graduated from Bowdoin College in 1975, is teaching French I, French II and Elementary Algebra. Ms. Jeannette Harris, from Freedonia, N.Y., teaches English and is helping with costumes for Academy Theatre. Mr. Craig Racenet, an Academy graduate, class of 1977, teaches Biol- ogy and Earth Science. A star quarterback in college, Mr. Racenet also serves as the Academy’s head football coach. Ms. Dorothy Stauss, also a Bowdoin graduate, was active on the swim team in college. At Bowdoin. she gained a strong background in Special Education. This year, Ms. Stauss will be teaching Remedial Math and Elementary Algebra I. Mr. Aldredge, who is heading the program, considers the Fellows to be valuable additions to the Academy faculty. The success of the Fellows Project in its first year indicates that it will continue for many years.

New Faces In The A dministra tion This year two familiar faces can be found in some rather unfamiliar offices Due to the increased enrollment of resident students, the need arose for a person to coordinate the numerous programs associated with resident life. The Academy is fortunate to have Mr. Gerald Aldredge as Dean of Resident Students. Mr. Aldredge has served as a dormitory proctor and has taught English for ten years. In this role, he will be directly responsible for every facet of resident life as the program increases in size to 100 students next year. Mr. Robert Trottier, our new assistant Headmaster, has assumed many of the duties formerly performed by Mr. Gary Moore (now serving as the Fish and Game Commisioner of the State of Vermont). Mr. Trottier coordinates student activities and is responsible for student discipline. In addition, Mr. Trottier will still teach students parler Francais! 14
