Lucille Benedict — photographing sheep in Australia in order to analyze the wool. John Bernier — true to family tradition, graduated from Annapolis. 1 see a beauty shop, the name is — Aline Bilodeau’s Beauty Salon. Gordon Burdette — opening a St. Johnsbury branch of Burdette College. Mim Campion — making a career in Korea as an army nurse. Warren Church —mixing cement with which to fill Boulder Dam. Yvette Carreau — assisting in Aline Bilodeau Beauty Shop, specializing in tinting the hair green. Pat Collins — as Physical Education instructor in Barnum-Bailey’s Circus. Donald Conly — leading a second good-will tour of the fleet around the world as lieutenant j.g. Paul Corliss — posing for Charles Atlas Ads. Gloria Creighton — as a social worker, restoring Imagination in America’s Youth. Esther Cross — celebrating the first anniversary of Cross-Murphy Tours — “see the world by foot.” Paul Cutting — in the French Foreign Legion. John Simons — performing his duties of janitor at Harvard. Newell Somers — as mathematics instructor at Bailey’s Agriculture School. Mary Gilbert — designing new hair do’s for Powers models. Roy Gorham — finishing a post graduate course at Goddard Seminary. Cynthia Goss — as a specialist in cello instruction at Bates College. John Hale — as president of Hale’s Tailor Shops. May Marcotte — modeling her newest fashions for Mr. Powell. Allyn May —voted the best dressed doctor in U. S. for 1957. Marceline Mayo — becoming the secretary of Chamber of Commerce at Woodsville. James Moore — wanted by the Missing Person’s Bureau. Joan Morris — residing at Twilight Rest Llome. Lincoln Olmstead — as a fish veterinary, his office being a submarine in the Atlantic. Delia Platt — a Coxswain in the Waves. Jean Pollard — designing burlap bags for the Idaho Potato Company. Audrie Powers — keeping a home for the tired travellers of Waterford. Anne Stancer — Canadian Immigration Official at Derby Line. The Academy Student Ellen Stanley — as town manageress at Victory. David Sylvester — introducing a new subject into high school — “How to Control Laughter the Easy Way.” Janet Urie — compiling a very compact edition of Gregg’s Shorthand—Revised. John Viets — still mumbling through his beard. Jane Ware — manufacturing Ware’s Everware ski wax. Alma Warrell — the first woman President of the United States under the Prohibition Party. Betty Whaley — has lifted the roof of the Metropolitan in New York one inch. Margaret Whitehill — librarian at the Newell Post. Barbara Wood — employed in New York running the elevator in the Empire State Building. Pat Wood — in the capacity of serving as house mother at Harvard. Melvin Zarbarsky — a successful local truck driver. Bernard Cerier — guiding excursion tours around Boston. CLASS ODE Ode lo Our Lost youth O, Sing praises of vanished youth! Soft streams of quietness through mighty canyons flow; Sweet scented violet, dust blown ’gainst barren rock will grow not to the flower but stone. We haven’t heard much from Clinton but we know that he has been working hard during the two years that he has been with us. Most of us could use some of his perserverance. WILL: Clinton Barrett gives up his front seat in cbem class to any enthusiastic Junior. LUCILLE MARION BENEDICT St. Johnsbury, Vermont Lucy'' Lou R- F. D. She treads with the softness of a mouse, but she leaves many accomplishments in her wake. Lucille has held a place on the honor roll all four years. She played the clarinet in the band. Aline always managed to have the subject changed in the second year shorthand class, and how all the kids loved it! Her voice is musical to the ear. The few friends she has, she will always keep. Gordon is one of the perfect specimens and this all goes to show what the combination of wrestling and farm life can develop. We, as schoolmates, know that his arguments in classes are backed by a determination that will carry Gordy over rough spots to ultimate success. One of the most promising athletes of the class — Paul was outstanding in football, baseball, and basketball. Paul made a dignified President of the Student Council but he loved his fun as well as all the rest of us 47’ers. Ask any Freshman who Paul is — they all know Paul. WILL: Paul Corliss has agreed to share his ability to have and to hold with Danny and Daisy. The musician of our class, Gloria, has advantages in many fields. A debate is never quite complete without her, and she is indispensable to the band and orchestra. Gloria, we know your nimble fingers and lovely voice will forever aid you in keeping your life in pleasant harmony. The boy with a unique slant on life, is Paul, our class philosopher and psychologist, who is always undertaking to make possible the impossible. While forever sharpening his wit on his unsuspecting classmates, he is one among us who we know will reach any goal he sets for himself. Of course that’s “in general,” Paul! When Lancaster lost a freshman we gained a swell girl, and she has proved to be a good sport. Her blond locks have been envied by many of the girls. Always cheerful and always considerate best describes Chris. Her efforts have brought about many a well decorated hall for our dances. Whenever you need any help go to Chris — she is always willing. Tony and his clarinet have engraved themselves on the musical history of St. J. A. He is one of our veterans. He expects to go to college next year to take up work in hotel managing.
