It has given pharmacy students a voice in the American Pharmaceutical Association for over SD years. S..lLl's Chapter of Student APHA, with a membership of 'l ED students, is very active on national, regional and local levels. This year, Chapter Vice-President .Jonathan Schiller was elected Flegion I Delegate. In addition to providing leadership on the regional level, Jon will represent student interests nationally within APHA. With St, ..lohn's, the chapter is involved in a variety of activities. These include fund raisers, speakers, and a newsletter. Student APHA sponsors the Patient Counseling Competition, in which students simulate a pharmacist-patient drug counseling situation. The chapter also co-sponsors Pharmacy Career Day. At this event, speakers inform the students about various opportunities within Pharmacy. As a service to students, Student APHA has initiated a Sook Exchange for science and Pharmacy majors. This will give students increased access to used science textbooks at reasonable prices. Through these activities, Student APHA unites Pharmacy students, giving them an identity and pride in their profession.
