We dedicate the l96U Spire to a man who has been our friend and Headmaster for four years, Brother Gilroy, C.F.X. If our four years have been not only enjoyable ones but also intellectually fruitful and spiritually beneficial ones, Brother Gilroy has been the directing spirit behind this. If we have learned the great lesson of serving the interests of others, it is from Brother Gilroy that we have taken the example. As he leaves St. Iohn's to take up his new work as Provincial Superior of the St. Ioseph's Province of the Xaverian Brothers, we gratefully dedicate this yearbook to this excellent religious gentleman-and We pledge our prayerful loyalty to this gracious devoted friend. X' .... A worthy son of the Congregation of Saint Francis Xavier . . . he has inspired an untold number of fledgling students. As Headmaster of Saint Iohn's Preparatory School he has achieved notable success in advancing the aca- demic excellence of its graduates.
