D dicated MR. JAMES C. KELLY Y -we -un.. . 37 Years Mr. james Kelly was born in Wallingford, Conn., Where he graduated from Wallingford Grammar School and Lyman High School. After graduating from the American College of Physi- cal Education in Chicago, Mr. Kelly came to the Prep as Physical Education Instructor in Septem- ber, 1923. Mr. Kelly and his Wife, Margaret, are the proud parents of two children, Thomas and Mary jane. After long and devoted service at the Prep, Mr. Kelly still functions at a pace which would try the strength and endurance of a man many years his junior. Mr. Kelly has proven that a keen mind and a brilliant Wit are not alien to a well- conditioned and finely coordinated body. Popu- Scarcely a Vincentian priest exists who doesn't know Mr. Kelly. ather seminariesin Miami, Albany, Princeton and Northhampton. The preaching of parish missions and of the Miraculous Medal Novena are a vital part of Vin- centian activity. Niagara University and DePaul University in Chicago, con- ducted by the YVestern Province, bear witness to the important role in Catholic education played by the American Vincentian. Godis stamp of approval is surely on the work begun by St. Vincent. Numbers alone-over 4000 V incentians and 42,000 Daughters of Charity all over the World -attest to this conclusion. VVe students of St. Iolufs Prep are grateful for the opportunity given us to come under the influence of this great Saint and his sons. Manls greatness in this life can be measured in many ways. It can be measured by the riches he obtains or in the possessions that he owns. It can be measured, however, in less tangible things. It can be measured by love, devotion, and generosity. It is because of your love, devotion and gener- osity to the Prep for the past thirty-seven years, that we dedicate to you, Mr. Kelly, the 1960 Prep Shadows.
