Within a few years the influx of enthusiastic young men increased, and the spirit of St. Iohnis swelled to thunderous proportions seeking a mode of expression. L Reverend John E. Hurleq D ED I In 1954, the Rev. john E. Hurley, C.M. found the important position of Headmaster of St. 1ohn's Prep Weighing upon his shoulders. Enthusiastically he assumed the heavy duties of his office. As an administrator, he proved himself entirely competent and efficient. NYhen respon- sihilities increased he courageously confronted them, settling all hy his discreet decisions. Associating with others, he was always FATHER Hurley, the true Vincentian priest. Zealous, as was St. Vincent, Father worked untiringly for the formation of the spiritual, manly character of the prepsters. In him, faculty and students found a true friend whom they could approach with confidence, assured of Fatherfs personal interest. To Father Hurley, GM. who has energetically vivified in his own person the spirit of St. jolnfs Prep, we, the Graduates, dedicate this edition of Prep Slzaclows. fb. C. M.
