Sorrowfully we tried to hold back the ever moving wings of time. But this was impossible. Now we have but memories. Just four short years ago, ninety-six bewildered boys entered the spacious halls of the Moore Memorial Building. Naturally we fell easy prey to the shrewd sophs and juniors with their elevator passes and other helpful devices. On receiving our first report cards, we realized the difficulties that confronted us. We had a hard time fitting ourselves to this new life. However, despite our troubles, our class became an integral part of the Prep family. Our first big event was the St. Patrick's Day Parade, on Fifth Avenue in which we marched not as lrishmen, but as Cath- olics. lt was during this term that the Red Owl claimed Dick Clark, Pat Gilmartin, Frank Bauch, Dick Brostowin and George Regan. John Kreig, Harvey Stenger, and Dick Knudsen joined the ever growing band while Jerry Mayer answered the call of athletics. Dick Sunday became a stalwart of the keglers. After a short time came the gala boat ride, the final exams and then our first term had ended. We entered our second year with a new feeling. We were no longer the shy youngsters of last year, but arrogant sophs. lt was in these days that our school spirit really flourished. Ron Austin and Larry Maloney joined the Debate Club, while Mike Cannario utilized his artistic ability for the Poster Service Squad. Athletics thrived as Bill Houston, Tom Canavan, and Rudy Scri- menti ran under the banner of the newly organized Track Team. RONALD RALPH AUSTIN Intramurals l, 2, 3g Vice President Student Council 4g Chairman Pow Wow 4, Prom Committee 45 Speech 3, 43 Debate 3, 45 Physics 3, Forum 3, Dramatics 43 Cheer- leader 4. Ron, our pocket-size Laurence Olivier, trod the boards last year in Lucifer's Lodge. His loyalty has been depicted by his con- stant attendance at all Prep activities.
