The Prep Bowling team opened their season this tall, possessing a new coach and an all veteran tive, The new mentor of the squad was Rev. Arthur Colby, CM., who succeeded Mr. Thomas Lacey. The tive veterans who made up the team were: John Moon Mullin, Tom Spina, Ray Kearns, Dick Sunday, and Bob Mortola, January graduation de- prived the team of the services of Spina and Sunday, but Dick Stanley and Jack Pellmen proved capable replacements for the two vets. lt marked the tirst time in four years that Mr. Lacey was not at the helm of the pinmen. During his years as moderator, the keglers captured the city championship once, finished second twice, and once were third. kl4fame' Preps kifegtman Ben H Frosh ess Joe Tennis Led by the sparkling play of Joe Westman and Frank Pisciotta, the l95O edition of the Prep Netmen gained their second consecutive city title. The Indians downed such top-flight clubs as Bishop Loughlin, Brooklyn Prep, Chaminade and St. Peter's of Staten lsland to cop the championship. During the l95O campaign, the Indians swept to both singles and do ubles victories in the Fordham Tournament. Pisciotta captured the singles title. He then teamed with Westman to capture the doubles crown. For this splendid work, Pisciotta gained the number one Boy's Singles Title in this section, while Westman was crowned Number Three Singles Player in the East. Together both these Prepsters were rated as the number one do of the country. Entering the current season the Redmen will field two teams, a varsity and a newly organized freshman club. T hese teams are scheduled to enter the Fordh T am ourney for Secondary Schools. The netmen also are expected to enter the St. John's U Schools.
