Mr. Marc Vansteenbeeck A recent addition to the teaching staff, Mr. Vansteenbeeck teaches Physical Education and coaches several sports. Last year, often seen as a substitute and one of the coaches, he is now a perma- nent part of St. John ' s. Welcome! Mme. Colette Puvrez Teaching children pleases Mme. Puvrez greatly and her flashing smile gives evidence of her content. Through well- disciplined, yet fun classes, she teaches French and makes it enjoyable to learn. Frau Irene Williams Frau Williams ' German classes are always contented. A firm believer in Gummi Bears and elaborate parties, Frau Williams persuades everyone to par- ticipate, and as a results, her students love her. Mrs. Elizabeth Stephan A talented actress, Mrs. Stephan not only teaches English, but organizes and presents several theatrical performances. Her vibrant, English personality can easi- ly brighten the darkest Belgian day. Miss Linda Reinhart A tough coach and gym teacher but a super nice lady. Miss Reinhart has taught and coached many a winning team. Her drive and determination affect all those around her, making her many friends within the student body. Mme. Marie-Claire De Cock Always elegantly attired, Mme De Cock constantly keeps her students working. She transmitts her great enthusiasm to all her students, producing an enjoyable French class.

Miss Paula Heinen The computer wonder of St. John ' s, Miss Heinen helps many students survive in this computer-controlled world. Well- liked and respected, she shares her vast knowledge of Math to most students at St. John ' s. Mr. Luis Dias New to our Mathematics Department, Mr. Dias uses his powerful personality to accompany his teaching. His great dedication helps transmit clearly the theorems of Geometry, Algebra and Trigonometry. Mrs. Marshall Seymour Mrs. Seymour joins St. John ' s from Bohn. She teaches Junior High Art, and in addi- tion to these talents, she advises the year- book staff when problems arise. Miss Laura La Mantia Miss La Mantia ' s Biology room, alwayS filled with flowers, plants, and other signs of nature, tends to be one of the brightest rooms of the school. Her personality, equally bright, makes learning Biology a lot of fun. Miss Janet Williams A four year veteran. Miss Williams once again is found teaching all levels of Chemistry. Always lending a helping hand if needed, she is often seen aiding her students and those in need of assistance. k::s £ SL Mr. Brian Phelan A newcomer to St. John ' s, Mr. Phelan is a welcome addition. He fills a spot great- ly needed by the students and fills it well. His natural confidence and warmth are an asset to his Mathematics teaching.

Mr. Stephen Bartlett Active and dependable, Mr. Bartlett is a vital part of life at St. John ' s. When not teaching one of his History classes, he is busily arranging IB schedules or one of the many school trips. Although Mr. Bartlett is busy, he always has time for a few words with the students. Br. Michael Corry. FSC An important part In the structure of St. John ' s, Brother Michael shoulders many responsibilities. Although his schedule is heavy, he can often be found laughing and talking to the students, getting to know them better. Mrs. Clare Chais An invaluable asset to St. John ' s, Mrs. Chais remains one of the key people in the running and organizing of the High School. Although rarely seen, her con- tribution to the smooth functioning of the school is enormous. Mr. Jack Shull The new High School Guidance Counselor comes to us from Starvanger, Norway. Always willing to listen to any type of problem, he readily offers warm, friendly advice. Mr. Roger Moran Mr. Moran, a vital part of St. John ' s, teaches Math and Physics, runs the Boys ' Residence and takes his role of Dean of Students very seriously. Yet even that ti- tle cannot mask his caring, amusing per- sonality nor his giant heart. Mrs. Nina Timar Mrs. Timar can be seen either with her French class, or working hard in her of- fice of Student Services. Wherever she may be, people find her helpful and a good listener. 19
