Cannon, our carolers surpassed themselves and left in their wake an echo of that first angelic choir in Bethlehem. We could go on and on ---- the impressive ring ceremony in the convent chapel, the Senior luncheon given by the Iuniors to honor our ring day , the school dances, especially the Snowland Dance so rich in the royalty of the newly elected King and Queen, the school trips, the roller skating parties, the educational cruise around Manhattan Island and lastly the regular basket ball games, fair play --- win or lose. Even our classes in St. Iohn's were rich in traditional enthusiasm. Yes, we can even make that assertion despite homework and those awful test days . The Sisters worked untiringly to teach us, whether it was a geometry problem, a Latin declension, or a chemistry experiment. Work and concen- tration brought success to all our endeavors. We were fortunate to have Father Cannon give us special weekly instructions on practical religious problems. But the training we have received consisted of more than just this. Our education has been personalized, individual attention has been given to each of us by our teachers. We have received an education of the mind, heart and hand. We have been taught to regard God as the source of all truth, wisdom and virtue. To strengthen our lives, we have been shown the need of prayer, the practicality of daily meditation, the possibility of sanctifying the humdrum occurrences of everyday life. Religion has been given its proper place in our lives. These are the traditions which have become a part of us at St. Iohn's. We are grateful for all we have learned within the portals of our Alma Mater. May our future show the fruitful harvest of the traditional seeds that have been planted within us: may these principels of Christian living, firmly embedded in our hearts, lead us to eternal salvation. . , , , 1 ':,- gL'Y'ti-1.53, -4.9.1. 5:--LH, s.: gvellzyv-1-.5 fi-V 5:':' W , .1 if .. ,. ffpw :ag 4 'V-at-'si if , ,r V -. .- -A -. .. - - W 1 b -- Q f..- , 3. g:.f,f.,' -5... .., . , ,,,,,. ,,.,,,,.... ,., - ., -. ,. - -. -' .- -: -' ' -5.f1.3,-4:3311 s r zf - - :,- ra 'n:i.g: , M- -. ,ip -,- ,, .-
