Swimmers Su fer Disappointing Season The 1968-69 St. John's swimming team opened its duel-meet schedule with respectable, but losing, efforts against St. Francis and Lima Shawnee. The high point of the season was the third meet, when the Titans trounced DeVi1biss by a 58-37 margin. In their final three encoun- ters, coach Norman Napieris swimmers lost to Findlay, Whitmer, and Fremont Ross, thus concluding the regular season with a disap- pointing l-5 record. The toughest defeat of all, however, came at the hands of Whitmer. The meet ended in a 43-43 tie, and Whitmer won the ensuing swim- off to deal the Titans a heartbreaking one point setback.
