FRCDSH SCORE IN SJ TOURNEY Although their duel meet record was only 1-3, the 1967-58 St. John's freshmen wrestling team, under the guidance of coach John Gallagher. S.J., had a highly successful and promising season. Undoubtedly. the high point of the year came in the third annual St. John's Invitational Freshmen Wrestling Tournament. ln compe- tition against freshmen from six other schools, Tom Walsh ll03l, Tom Bracken l112l, and Frank LaScola lHwtl captured lirst places. Second-place finishes went to Rick Sbrocchi l121l, John Pinkelman l133l, Jim Hawes ll45l, and Joe Heinlein ll75l. Because of their fine showing at this tournament, the freshmen have indi- cated that they have the potential to make future St. John's teams very tough to beat. John Pinkelman fights for a takedown.
