Hetrick, Mr. Hauck, Advisors Student Council History The Lucas Student Council was organized in October 1952. lts purposes are: l. More student opportunities in student government. Z. To promote a more co-operative under:-standing between students and faculty. 3. Better management and promotion of school artivities. 4. For the unity of more and better student organization. 5. For a better sentiment of law and order. The membership includes grades nine and twelve. The representatives consist of four class presidents, and two additional members from each class with the exception of the Senior Class which will have three. All members must niaintain a HC average. The Student Council has been responsible for securing more lockers, a more efficient metliod of cheerleader election, and several different methods for raising scholastic standings. In the future, plans have been made for awarding letters for scholastic standings and for a more thorough teacher-Student understanding.
