Class iHistory On September 8, 1942, sixteen of the present twenty-six Seniors were present to start their first day of school, our teacher being Miss Duncan. These pupils were! Betty Butterbaugh, Shirley Byerly, Norma Culler, Dixie DeVore, jane Moffett, Mary Goodnight,jean Rummel, Betty Smith, Leonard Free, Clifford Harvey, Charles Landis, Teddy Moffett, Dewey Pore, Donnie Pore, Melvin Switzer, and Carl Williams. Up through our first eight years we had a lot of fun but we caused our teach' ers many hardships. Our teachers through our first eight years were! Miss Duncan Mrs. Andrews, Mrs. Russell, Mrs. I-lively, Mrs. Barger, Miss Blust, Mrs. Miller, and Mrs. Hoffman. As we came into high school for the first time our class was divided. The girls were under the direction of Miss Titschinger and the boys under Mr. Hetrick. The highlights of this year for the girls was being initiated into F.H.A. The follow- ing were officers for our Freshrnan year: President ......... . . Dorothy Neff Vice-President .... . . Clifford Harvey Secretary .... . . David Thompson Treasurer . . . . . Shirley Byerly The newness of high school was wearing off as we started our Sophomore year. Wayne Roberts, one of our classmates left us and went to Hayesville. Our officers were as follows! President ........... . Melvin Switzer Vice-President . . . . Dick Kesselring Secretary ..... . . Betty Smith Treasurer ............. George Briner We started our junior year by gaining one classmate Nova Pankow from Mansfield, and losing one boy George Briner who went to Perrysville. We all worked real hard to have a successful junior-Senior Prom. Other highlights of this year were our class parties at Mohican State Park and our class play Tattletal,e . Shirley Byerly Our Senior year was our most exciting year. Our annual was an event which occupied most of our time. We have name cards and pictures to exchange I with our classmates and all under classmen. We gained one girl, Marie McLaughlin from Lexington. ln May we had our class play and then the day came we were all waiting for, Commencement. We left on our Senior trip on May 23, our chaperones being Mr. and Mrs. Hauck. Our officers for our Senior year were! President ............. Bill Cox Vice-President . . . .
